Understanding the Aspects of Your Mind
You have a conscious mind and a unconscious mind. Your conscious mind creates your reality, your perception of the world and works very hard to maintain that reality as you go about your daily life. Your unconscious mind stores all your abilities (those you know you have and those you are not aware of), understandings and memories outside the awareness of the conscious mind, and the unconscious is able to access those resources. The unconscious is an unlimited place of experiential leanings. The conscious mind seeks answers to “why”. The unconscious knows why. A powerful ally just waiting to be accessed.

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a relaxed state wherein the unconscious and conscious parts of the mind begin to work on the same concept at the same time, in harmony. Hypnosis helps you access more of your creativity enabling you to generate many more options than you ever thought you were capable of.

We really do have many more resources available within to use in all aspects of our life.

Trance - the relaxed detached inwardly focused state of Hypnosis is a natural state we all experience many times a day.

Examples of Hypnosis ~ Trance:

Daydreaming
Visualizations
Getting from point A to B without recalling the drive.
Losing track of time when occupied – watching a movie, talking with a friend or losing yourself in a good book.
Staring at a computer screen and losing track of time.
An extremely relaxed enjoyable state of being and learning.

How can hypnosis help in counselling?

Hypnosis is a tool that can be utilized in counselling and therapy which helps you bypass the natural barriers you have set up to protect yourself thereby allowing the unconscious mind to assist working towards and making the desired changes you desire to make. Barriers that are often no longer healthy or useful. The unconscious mind can assist in bringing the conscious mind on board to make changes in our lives. The changes you choose to make.
